The Grand Haven volleyball team won the Mona Shores “Best of the West” tournament on Saturday.

The Buccaneers defeated Mona Shores 25-10, 25-19 in the finals. The also defeated Kalamazoo Central in the semifinals, West Ottawa in the quarterfinals and Grand Rapids Catholic and Whitehall in pool play.

Olivia Boeve led Grand Haven with 43 kills and six service aces. Morgan Ross had 34 kill and six aces. Katie Cole chipped in 128 assists while Sophie Newhouse had 68 digs.

Grand Haven is now 38-8 on the season.

Mona Shores went 4-2 in the tournament, beating Kalamazoo Central, West Ottawa, Grand Rapids Catholic and Zeeland East.

Kaitlin Hermanson paced the Sailors with eight kills and 66 assists, Haley Gartland had 54 digs while Madison Dunn contributed 10 blocks and six aces.

Mona Shores is now 22-16 on the season.
