The Hesperia football squad increased its winning streak to three games with a 21-0 victory over Lakeview on Friday night in a CSAA Silver Division game.
Hesperia’s Kanin Witte made an impact from both sides of the ball, rushing for
89 yards and a touchdown to go along with five tackles and three interceptions on defense.
The Panthers took a 14-0 lead into halftime on a 43-yard touchdown run by Witte and a nine-yard scoring scamper by Gerritt Yates.
Hesperia’s Gage Balkema found the end zone on a 15-yard run in the third quarter to close out the scoring.
Brandon Goins and Ray Bolan led the charge on the defensive side with seven tackles each while Tanner Goins and Triston Rubin each recovered fumbles.
The Panthers improved to 4-2 on the season and 3-1 in league play. They will host Kent City next week.
