Pistons 106, Nuggets 95 – The Pistons finally cracked the win column on the road on Saturday night against the Denver Nuggets.

Detroit, which won its first game in Denver since 2009, jumped out to a 36-21 lead after the first quarter, led 57-49 at halftime and had an 80-71 advantage heading into LSJ Logo incertthe fourth quarter.

The Pistons were led by Tobias Harris with 19 points while Marcus Morris had 17.

Andre Drummond had a double-double for Detroit with 14 points and 12 rebounds while Ish Smith chipped in with eight assists and Jon Leuer had 14 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

The Nuggets were led by Emmanuel Mudiay with 19 points while Danilo Gallinari added 18.Eye on the D

Detroit, which is now 5-5 on the season, will return home to face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night.

Canadiens 5, Red Wings 0 – The first place Montreal Canadiens blanked the Red Wings on their home ice on Saturday night.

Montreal led 3-0 after the first period and 5-0 heading into the third stanza.

Andrew Shaw paced the Canadiens with one goal and two assists, while Philip Danault and Max Pacioretty each chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Montreal’s goaltender Carey Price picked up a shutout win in net, stopping stopped all 25 Detroit shots.

Jimmy Howard took the loss in net for the Red Wings, allowing five goals on 25 shots.

The Red Wings are now 8-7-1 on the season, good for 17 points and an eighth place tie in the Eastern Conference standings.

Detroit will return home on Tuesday night to face the Tampa Bay Lightning.
