The West Michigan Lake Hawks went on the road and dropped a 128-104 decision to the Grand Rapids Danger on Saturday.

A bad first half doomed the Lake Hawks, who trailed 41-18 after one quarter and 66-35 at halftime. West Michigan played Grand Rapids to a 30-30 deadlock in the third quarter and had a 39-32 edge in the fourth, but it was too late to make a difference.

“It’s consistency that we are looking for from our players,” said Lake Hawks Coach Ron Jenkins. “Game by game, our players play hard and with intensity, but not with consistency. We are excited with our total effort in the second half and looking forward to putting a complete game together.”

Xavier Keeling led the Lake Hawks with 30 points while Marquis Brewer added 16.

The Lake Hawks’ Sunday night home game was postponed due to weather conditions.
