The Muskegon girls basketball squad’s strong second half propelled the Big Reds to a 58-48 victory over Oakridge in a non-league game on Wednesday night.

The Big Reds jumped out to a 20-9 lead after the first quarter, trailed 27-26 at halftime and outscored the Eagles 18-12 during the third quarter to take a 44-39 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Muskegon, which closed the contest with a 14-9 fourth quarter run, was led by Daz’sha Day with 16 points while Sparkle Woods added 15.

Tasheyana Wyrick chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds for Muskegon and Tierra Williams contributed with six points, nine rebounds, five assists and five blocks.

The Eagles were led by Hanna Reinhold with a game-high 21 points.
