Lucas Schumm’s 23 points and four assists led the Whitehall boys basketball squad over the Shelby 72-42 on Thursday in a West Michigan Conference game.

The Vikings outscored Shelby by a 26-10 margin during the third quarter.

The contest was tied 16-16 after the first quarter, the Vikings led 34-19 at halftime and 60-29 heading into the fourth quarter.

Drew Young added 15 points for Whitehall while Brandon Rake chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.

The Tigers were led by Tyler Schouten and Spencer Brown with 12 points each.
