The Fremont boys basketball team broke open a close game in the fourth quarter and beat Chippewa Hills 45-39 on Friday in CSAA action.

After being tied 27-27 after three quarters, the Packers (8-4, 5-2) outscored Chippewa Hills by an 18-12 margin down the stretch.

Fremont nailed 11 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter to help seal the win. Ryan Geeting led the Packers with 12 points and seven rebounds while Logan Karnemaat added nine points and four blocks.

KENT CITY 58, HOLTON 39 – Freshman Eli Carlson helped the Eagles down Holton (6-6, 3-3) in a CSAA league contest. Kent City jumped out to a 14-5 advantage and never looked back. The Eagles are now 8-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play. Carlson’s 14 points led Kent City, while Braden Petruska added another 11.

BIG RAPIDS 66, GRANT 55 – Grant led by three points after one quarter, but Big Rapids took control in the second and third quarters. Spencer Naffziger led Grant (7-4, 6-2) with 20 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and one block. Tyler Lopez added 11 points for the Tigers.

MORLEY STANWOOD 72, HESPERIA 32 – The Panthers fell to 2-8 on the season and 1-5 in league play. Scott Peters led Hesperia with nine points while Tanner Goins scored eight and Kyle Venne added seven.
