The Muskegon Catholic Crusaders used a stifling defense to beat Manistee 31-26 in a Lakes 8 Conference basketball tilt on Friday.
The Crusaders held the Chippewas to only two points in the first quarter and six in the fourth.
MCC improved to 5-5 overall on the season and 2-1 in conference play.
Cameron Martinez paced the Crusaders with seven points.

LUDINGTON 68, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 30 – The undefeated Orioles (10-0, 5-0) jumped out to a 33-0 lead halfway through the second quarter, then cruised to a win in Lakes 8 league play. Dante Vela led Ludington with 11 points while Jared Collins chipped in 10 and Calvin Hackert added nine. Tyler Van Beek paced the Warriors (3-9, 2-5) with nine points.

FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 46, BARRY COUNTY CHRISTIAN 19 – Alec Cammenga led the Eagles with 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals while Jacob McFarren added 11 points, six rebounds and five assists. Zach Zehr chipped in with nine points for Fruitport Calvary.
