Kyle Ervin Jr. and Michael Williams put up big numbers on Saturday, leading the Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team to a 96-83 victory over Mid Michigan Community College in Mount Pleasant.

Ervin had 26 points and eight rebounds while Williams piled up 24 points, 12 rebounds and five steals.

Sergio Diaz added 15 points for the Jayhawks, Daryl Kirkland scored 11 points and Ricarri Stimage had 10 points and 10 assists.

“It wasn’t always pretty, but I thought we got some big time performances from some of our starters that we knew we were going to need, and I thought some of the guys that came off the bench played outstanding,” said MCC Coach Dave Schlump.

The Jayhawks improved to 11-4 overall on the season and 5-1 in the MCCAA’s Western Conference standings.
