Grand Haven’s varsity girls basketball team hasn’t had a home game since Dec. 9.  If the Bucs continue to play on the road like they did Tuesday evening at Muskegon, head coach Katie Kowalczyk-Fulmer might not care.

Alli Keyser poured in 19 points and Grand Haven’s defense stifled Muskegon in a 52-32 victory. The Bucs improve to 9-5 overall.

Grand Haven had a 17-7 lead after one, and took a 28-18 lead into the half. The Bucs put the game away by outscoring the Big Reds 14-5 in the third quarter.

Esther Byington added 11 points and nine rebounds for the Bucs, while Sophie Mariani had seven points and five rebounds and Andrea Shumaker dished off four assists.

Muskegon was paced by I’yona Norman with seven points.

Grand Haven returns to action on Friday, as it hosts O-K Red Conference foe Caledonia.
