The Western Michigan Christian boys basketball team picked up a tough 34-29 Lakes 8 road victory at Manistee on Friday night.

Defense was key for the Warriors, who held Manistee scoreless in the third quarter to lead by a 26-11 margin going into the fourth.

Manistee outscored WMC during the fourth stanza 18-8, but failed to complete a comeback.

The Warriors (4-10, 3-4) were led by Chance Larson and Daniel Ray with eight points each.

 

LUDINGTON 60, ORCHARD VIEW 29 – The Orioles cruised past the Cardinals to keep their undefeated season alive, moving to 12-0 overall and 6-0 in the conference. Sam LaDuke led the way for Ludington with 12 points and six steals, while Noah Laman added 11 points and Calvin Hackert chipped in 10.

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS 81, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 45 – A 64-27 advantage over the last three quarters of play propelled the Tigers to a Lakes 8 victory. Joe Moore led Muskegon Heights (11-4, 5-1) with 24 points while Anthony Jones and Antoine Jones each added 13 points. Muskegon Catholic (5-6, 1-1) was led by AJ Johnson with 12 points and Cameron Martinez with 11.

COVENANT CHRISTIAN 61, SPRING LAKE 48 – Covenant Christian’s sharpshooting was too much for the Lakers. The Chargers shot 14-for-21 from outside the perimeter. The Lakers, who dropped their record to 10-4 on the season, were led by Cameron Ball with 11 points.
