Fruitport Calvary Christian’s varsity girls basketball squad clinched a share of its fifth-straight Alliance Conference championship with a dominating 74-17 victory over Kentwood Grand River Prep on Thursday.

The Eagles jumped out to a 44-6 lead at the half and enjoyed a running block due to the mercy rule throughout the third quarter.

Calvary Christian has won 33 league games in a row, as well as 65 of its last 69.

The Eagles had a tremendous trio of performances against Grand River, with Allyson Richards tallying a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds; Lexy Wilson added 19 points, eight rebounds and six steals; and Kelsey Richards finished with 19 points and five assists.

Lizzie Cammenga narrowly missed out on a double-double as well, as she finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. Point guard Jordyn Hamilton dished off nine assists and had five steals.

Calvary Christian, which improves to 16-1 overall and 7-0 in conference, hosts Byron Center Zion Christian on Tuesday.
