The Ludington girls basketball squad outscored Muskegon Heights by a 22-14 margin during the fourth quarter that led to a 56-53 Lakes 8 Conference win on Friday night.

The Orioles (12-3, 6-0) used a balance effort with Courtney Edwards and Jenna Keson each scoring 12 points while Bethany Shay added 11 points and Mackenzie Howe chipped in with 10.

Muskegon Heights (7-9, 2-2) also had a balanced effort with Jakayla Anderson and Rahjanique Anderson each scoring 12 points while Julieaunna Clark added 10.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 43, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 33 – Aubrey Goorman paced the Warriors (9-8, 3-3) with 17 points in a Lakes 8 Conference win. Anna Sytsema added 11 points and six rebounds for WMC and Cassie Kingma chipped in eight rebounds and six assists. MCC (7-10, 2-6) was led by Talia Tyler with nine points while Zoie Price grabbed 10 rebounds.

BIG RAPIDS 47, FREMONT 20 – The Packers (9-6, 5-5) offense struggled to score during the first half as Fremont trailed 23-4 at the half. Bre Harris paced the Packers with nine points and six steals while Anna Patenge grabbed 15 rebounds.

MORLEY STANWOOD 40, HOLTON 39 – The Red Devils dropped their record to 11-6 and 4-4 in league play after missing a shot at the final buzzer. Shelby Younts and Courtney Slater paced Holton with 14 points apiece. Slater added 10 rebounds.
