Grand Haven, Reeths-Puffer and Fruitport eliminated in team wrestling regionals

Three local high school wrestling squads wrapped up the team portion of their seasons on Wednesday with losses at regional tournaments.

In Division 1 regional semifinal action, Grand Haven lost 45-19 to Grandville. Picking up wins for Grand Haven were Riley Rhone (103), Cody Miller (119), Daniel Guillen (130), Drake Morley (215) and Collin Monsma (285).

In Division 2 regional semifinals, Reeths-Puffer fell to Greenville 46-25 while Fruitport lost to a powerful Lowell squad 81-0.

Winning matches for Reeths-Puffer were Noah McKinnon (112), Caleb Jensen (119), Blake Ross (160), Brett Thomas (171), Dawson Romanosky (215) and Jake Slater (285).
