The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team remained tied for first place in its conference following an 86-60 victory over Kalamazoo Valley Community College on Wednesday.
Six Jayhawks scored in double figures – Sergio Diaz (20 points), Michael Williams (10 points, 12 rebounds), Kyle Ervin Jr. (13 points, 12 rebounds), Daryl Kirkland (12 points), and Israel Williams and Ricarri Stimage (10 points apiece).
“I was really pleased with our defense, particularly in the first half, but overall as well,” said MCC Coach Dave Schlump. “It was a great team win.”
MCC is now 17-5 overall and 11-2 in the MCCAA’s Western Conference. The Jayhawks are tied for first place with Lansing Community College.
They will play Glen Oaks Community College on the road on Saturday at 3 p.m.
