The Ludington boys basketball team gained an edge with tough defense in the fourth quarter and beat Fremont 45-39 on Tuesday in non-conference action.

The Orioles led by only one point at halftime and at the end of the third quarter. They sealed the victory by taking advantage of 10 Fremont turnovers in the fourth quarter.

Sam LaDuke had 13 points for Ludington, which improved to 18-1 on the season. Riley Krim paced the Packers with seven points.
