The Shelby boys basketball squad overcame a halftime deficit, defeating Hesperia 54-46 in a non-league game on Tuesday night.

The Tigers (4-14) outscored the Panthers by a 20-10 margin during the third stanza to take a 40-35 advantage heading into the final quarter. Shelby trailed 13-10 after the first quarter and 25-20 at halftime.

Spencer Brown paced the Tigers with 18 points and 12 rebounds while senior Jonah Kelly chipped in with 15 points.

The Pirates were led by Scott Peters with 18 points and six assists while Jacob Klemundt added nine points and three steals.
