The Fruitport girls soccer team opened up its season on Wednesday with a 4-1 non-conference victory over Grand Haven.

Haley Beyer opened the scoring for Fruitport in the first half, with an assist from Isabelle Raven.

Grand Haven tied the game 1-1 in the first half, but Fruitport pulled away with three goals in the final 15 minutes of the contest.

Scoring for the Trojans down the stretch were Ellie Fisher, Jensyn Stanberry and Emily Winicki.

Winicki. Kylie Oberlin and Chloe Kern each had assists for Fruitport. Goalkeeper Madalyn Fett stopped six shots for the Trojans.
