A dominant first quarter propelled the Hart girls basketball team to a 48-31 win over Hesperia on Wednesday in a Class C district semifinal game.

The Pirates started hot, racing out to a 22-4 lead. The Panthers cut the deficit to 30-17 at the half, but couldn’t make a comeback. Hart led 37-24 after three quarters.

Yasmine Colon led Hart with nine points while Haley Alvesteffer and Nicole Rockwell each scored eight points.

Hesperia’s Ami Tateyama led all scorers with 11 points.

The Pirates advance to the district championship game against host Shelby on Friday at 7 p.m.
