Shelby defeats Mason County Central 58-43 in Class C girls basketball semifinal

The Shelby girls basketball team used big performances from McKenna Peters and Jenny Beckman to defeat Mason County Central 58-43 in a Class C district semifinal contest on Wednesday night.

Peters finished with 24 points while Beckman added 18.

The Tigers held Mason County Central to 32 percent shooting from the field. Tori Mussell powered the defensive effort with seven steals and also grabbed 10 rebounds.

Shelby will host Hart in the district finals on Friday night.
