The Muskegon Catholic girls soccer team blanked Ludington 1-0 in a shootout on Monday in Lakes 8 league play.

Both teams played to a scoreless tie throughout regulation and overtime. The Crusaders outscored Ludington by a 2-1 margin in the shootout stanza.

Ludington’s goalkeeper Melissa Morton and Allison Janowiak kept the ball out of the net in regulation.

Morton stopped two shots during the shootout, but MCC snuck it past her twice.

Lilli Conroy and Maddie Olsen scored in the shootout for MCC, with Olsen’s tally clinching the win.

Allie May scored Ludington’s lone shootout goal.

The Orioles fell to 3-3 on the year and 0-1 in conference play while MCC improved to 6-1-1 on the year and 2-0 in conference.
