The Fruitport baseball team claimed a big 7-2 non-league win over rival Spring Lake on Saturday.

Pitcher Logan Wadland got the win for the Trojans, scattering four hits and striking out four in six innings. Hunter Gannon had three hits and three RBIs.

Fruitport fell 1-0 to St. Joseph in its first game of the day. Jeremiah Bosse was the hard-luck loser on the mound, giving up only one run on five hits and one walk in six innings.

The Trojans had five hits, but failed to drive runs home with runners in scoring position.
