Holton softball squad improves to 16-1 on the season, sweeps Lakeview in twin bill

The Holton softball team blanked Lakeview twice in a CSAA doubleheader on Friday.

The Red Devils won the opener by a 15-0 margin, then defeated Lakeview 10-0 in the nightcap.

Makaela Baker picked up the win in Game 1 for Holton, pitching a one-hit shutout.

Shelbey Younts and Morgan Murat each had two hits to lead the Red Devil offense while Murat blasted a home run in the game.

Holton’s Haylee Brant pitched the victory in Game 2, allowing only two hits.

Dani Tanner paced the Red Devil offense in the nightcap with two hits while Adreanna Fitzgerald added a double.

The Red Devils are now 16-1 on the season and 10-0 in conference play.
