The Muskegon Community College baseball team posted a 3-1 record over the weekend against Glen Oaks C.C. in a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday.

The Jayhawks clipped Glen Oaks on the road 19-18 in the opening game on Friday, then cruised past the Vikings 12-2 in the nightcap.

In Game 1 MCC was led by Colin McClelland with three hits and four RBIs while Mitchell Wilson added three hits and three RBIs.

Ryan Beadle chipped in with three hits and two RBIs for the Jayhawks.

MCC’s Brendan Kelly pitched the victory in the opening game, tossing 4 2/3 innings while allowing eight earned runs on eight hits.

In Game 2 the Jayhawks were paced by Jacob Sposaro with a single, double and four RBIs while Jake Szombati contributed with two hits and an RBI.

Dylan Limbacher also had a single and double for MCC.

Jake Boes tossed the victory for the Jayhawks, pitching five scoreless innings while allowing five hits and striking out seven batters.

The Jayhawks split their twin bill at home on Saturday with Glen Oaks CC, dropping the first game 17-15, then bouncing back with a 5-2 victory in the second contest.

In Game 1 the Jayhawks were paced by McClelland with three hits and three RBIs while Ryan Fields added three hits and two RBIs.

Fields took the loss on the mound for MCC, allowing two runs on six hits in one inning of relief.

In Game 2 MCC was led by Sposaro with a single, home run and two RBIs while Beadle had two hits and an RBI.

Cade Cintorino pitched the victory for the Jayhawks, allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out 11 batters in seven innings pitched.
