The Oakridge baseball team cruised past Whitehall in a West Michigan Conference doubleheader on Tuesday.

The Eagles won the opening game 5-3, then blanked the Vikings 10-0 in the nightcap.

In Game 1 Oakridge was led by Koleman Wall with the game-winning double while Luke Layman chipped in with a hit, two walks and was hit by the pitch.

Wall picked up the win on the mound for the Eagles, allowing three runs on three hits while striking out four batters in six innings.

The Viking were paced by Ben VanSumeren in the opening game with two hits and an RBI.

Casey Huizenga suffered the loss for Whitehall, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out seven batters in 6 2/3 innings.

In Game 2 the Eagles were paced by Layman with three hits, including a double, while Blake Masterman and Morgan Meinders added two hits.

TJ Ruel pitched the victory for Oakridge, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing three hits and striking out seven batters.

Whitehall was led by Alec Milliron in the nightcap with a triple while VamSumeren suffered the loss on the mound.
