The Fruitport baseball team swept past Muskegon in an O-K Black Conference doubleheader on Tuesday, 18-6 and 17-4.

The Trojans finished the first game off in five innings and the second game in six.

Leading Fruitport in Game 1 were Parker Tawney with three hits and three RBIs and Connor Schuitema with three hits and his RBIs. Schuitema also picked up the win on the mound.

The top hitters for the Trojans in the nightcap were Tawney with 4 hits and 5 RBIs and Brendan Peterman with two hits and three RBIs.  The winning pitcher was Tyler Newsted.

Fruitport is now 2-0 overall and in conference play.

Leading the Big Reds on the night were AJ Reid, who had three hits and four RBIs between the two games, and Samori Pollard, who tallied three hits, four runs and four stolen bases.

Muskegon is 0-2 overall and in the conference.
