Hart baseball squad sweeps doubleheader over Big Rapids Crossroads Academy

The Hart baseball squad cruised past Big Rapids Crossroads Academy in a non-league doubleheader on Monday.

The Pirates won the opener 18-3, then blanked Crossroads Academy 15-0 in the nightcap.

Hart was led in Game 1 by Gus Gale with two hits, including a home run, while Jayden Vander Zwaag added two hits.

Austin VanderLaan chipped in with three RBIs and three runs scored in the opener for the Pirates.

The Pirates were paced in Game 2 by Gale and Vander Zwaag with two hits apiece while Seth Andritsis contributed with an RBI double.

VanderLaan tossed three hitless innings of baseball, striking out four batters.
