The Hesperia baseball team swept its doubleheader with Kent City on Tuesday.

The Panthers won the opening game by a 5-1 margin, then cruised to a 12-2 victory in the nightcap.

Gage Balkema picked up the win in Game 1, pitching seven innings while surrendering one run on three hits.

Balkema also added one hit and two runs scored while Brendan McAree added two hits and three RBIs.

In Game 2, Jake Klemundt led the Panthers with three hits, two runs scored and an RBI while Zach Young added two hits and four RBIs.

Young also picked up the win on the mound, surrendering two runs on four hits in five innings.

Hesperia improves to 17-10-1 overall and 13-6-1 in conference play.
