The Mona Shores and Fruitport softball teams each earned a win in an O-K Black doubleheader on Wednesday.

The Sailors took Game 1 by a score of 8-6, while the Trojans fought back and won the nightcap 11-8.

In Game 1, freshman Madison Van Etten pitched the win for the Sailors while striking out three batters. Grace Hall, Taylor Dew, Veronica Kastelic and Shelby Savacool each had two hits to pace the Mona Shores offense.

Kirsten Sweet earned the win in Game 2 for the Trojans by pitching 6 1/3 innings and striking out two. Alexis Jurgens and Rachel Paulsen each had three hits to pace the Fruitport offense.

Zoie Willeke led the Mona Shores offense with three hits, while Dew added a two-run homer.

Mona Shores is now 10-10 overall and 3-3 in the OK Black, while Fruitport sits at 7-8 overall.
