Mona Shores remains perfect in girls soccer, opens Division 1 district play with a victory

The Mona Shores girls soccer team remained unbeaten on the season with a 5-3 win over West Ottawa in Tuesday’s opening round of Division 1 districts.

The Sailors (19-0) will play either Grandville or Hudsonville in the semi-final on Thursday.

Sarah Mikesell provided the spark offensively with three goals and an assist for Mona Shores while Nora Brown scored once and assisted on two goals. Raegan Cox chipped in with one goal and one assist.

Mona Shores’ goalkeeper Megan Swanker stopped six shots on goal.
