The Muskegon Catholic baseball team wrapped up the Lakes 8 Conference championship with a doubleheader sweep over Ludington on Wednesday.

In the first game, Riley St. Amour pitched a two-hit shutout as the Crusaders won 7-0. Leading hitters for MCC were Cole Charlesworth and Mason Convertini with two hits apiece. One of Convertini’s hits was a double, giving him 19 on the year and a new school record in that category.

MCC won the second game 17-7. The winning pitcher was Carson St. Amour, with relief help from Bobby Ahern.

Cole Charlesworth had a huge game for the Crusaders with five hits, five runs, four RBIs and four stolen bases. He now has 49 steals on the season.

Ahern added three hits, while Hai Nguyen and Duy Nguyen chipped in with two apiece.

The Crusaders improved to 28-10 on the season and 15-1 in conference play. They finished four games ahead of second-place Ludington.
