The Oakridge baseball team clinched the West Michigan Conference championship on Tuesday with a 3-2 victory over North Muskegon in the first game of a doubleheader.

Koleman Wall pitched a complete-game victory for the Eagles. Monty Cerchiori knocked in Luke Layman in the fifth inning, giving the Eagles a 3-0 lead. North Muskegon scored twice in the seventh but couldn’t get the tying run.

TJ Ruel and Bfady Luttrull drove in the other two runs for Oakridge.

Brighton Schofield and Dalton Fuller scored runs for North Muskegon.

Oakridge completed the sweep  with a 12-0 win in the second game.

Ruel hurled a five-hit shutout in Game 2. Layman had three hits, drove in three runs and scored three. Wall, Luttrull and Blake Masterman had two hits.
