The Reeths-Puffer softball team took both games of an O-K Black Conference doubleheader against Fruitport on Tuesday.

The Rockets cruised to a 6-0 win in the opener, but had to sweat out a back-and-forth second game, 5-4.

Makayla Thompson pitched the opener for Reeths-Puffer, going six innings and striking out nine. She also smacked three base-hits and drove in a run. Brooklyn Duffey added three hits and four RBIs for the Rockets.

Kirsten Sweet led the Trojans with three hits. Pitcher Aurora Wilks struck out four in seven innings of work.

Duffey drove in two more runs in the nightcap.

Thompson fanned seven batters in just 3 1/3 innings, while Jayla Olson pitched the other 3 2/3 for the Rockets and collected four strikeouts.

Rachel Paulsen pitched for Fruitport, striking out 10 batters over six innings. Brooke Samlow and Alexis Jurgens had two hits and two RBIs each.
