It’s not too late to register your team for the Local Sports Journal Golf Outing on June 2 at Oakridge Golf Club!

The event will have a University of Michigan football flavor. Featured dinner speakers will be former U-M wide receiver and coach Bill Harris and former U-M All-American nose tackle Rob Renes.

Proceeds from the event will help support Local Sports Journal’s coverage of area high school sports.

The 18-hole scramble, with four-player teams, will start at 9 a.m. The event will include lunch at the turn and dinner afterward, provided by Bella Maria’s restaurant.

One highlight of the event will be the Hole-in-One Challenge, sponsored by Deur-Speet Motors.

Anyone hitting a hole-in-one on the 8th hole will win a 2017 Jeep Renegade. Aces on the 2nd , 14th or 16th holes will be rewarded with other great prizes, including a four-day golf vacation at the French Lick Resort in Indiana, a Travis Mathew signature golf outfit, and a set of Taylor Made golf irons.

There will also be a giant raffle with dozens of prizes (listed below), including a Detroit Red Wings jersey autographed by Justin Abdelkader.

The registration fee is $400 per team. Proceeds will help support Local Sports Journal’s coverage of area high school sports.
