Spring Lake allowed four runs in the opening inning and four more in the fourth, creating too deep of a hole for the Lakers to crawl out of on Wednesday against Grand Rapids West Catholic.
West Catholic went on to defeat the Lakers in the O-K Blue Conference contest, 9-3.
Isiah Lindsey took the pitching loss for Spring Lake, as he went five innings, allowing seven hits and six earned runs. He also struck out four.
Ryan Peets and TJ Cunningham each went 1-for-3 with a run scored for Spring Lake.
