The Holton softball team is returning to the Division 4 state quarterfinals after winning a regional championship on Saturday.

The Red Devils defeated Frankfort 10-9 in the semifinals. They trailed by a run in the last inning, then scored twice in the bottom of the inning to steal the victory.

Haylee Brant earned the win on the mound for Holton. Morgan Murat and Kaylie Piper had two hits apiece.

Holton went on to rally again and beat Beal City 8-7 in the regional championship game. The Red Devils scored three times in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off win.

Brant got another win on the mound in the finals. Machaylah Ross had a double and a triple, Dani Tanner hit a triple, Piper and Brant had three hits apiece while Emily Larabee had two.

The Red Devils will have a rematch against Coleman in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at noon at Saginaw State University. Holton lost last season’s game.
