The Fremont football team opened its season with a 39-8 loss to Evart on Friday night.

The Packers trailed 13-0 after one quarter and 19-0 at halftime before getting on the board with a safety in the third quarter.

Parker Dalson made the tackle in the end zone, making the score 19-2 in favor of Evart.

Evart responded with a touchdown to increase its advantage to 25-2 in the third quarter.

Kane Widing scored the lone Fremont touchdown on a 21-yard run to cut the Packers’ deficit to 25-8.

Evart closed the scoring with another touchdown in the third quarter and a final TD in the fourth.

Widing led the Packers with 90 yards rushing and a touchdown on 11 carries while Dalson added 84 yards on 15 carries. Riley Krim added 70 yards on four catches for a 17.5 yards per catch average.
