The Grand Haven volleyball team won its fifth straight “Battle of the Boardwalk”, winning two of three matches Friday.

The Buccaneers defeated Spring Lake (28-26, 25-21) and Fruitport (25-8, 17-25, 15-13) but lost to Mona Shores (21-25, 23-25).

Spring Lake also went posted a 2-1 record, defeating Fruitport (25-16, 18-25, 15-4) and Mona Shores (25-20, 25-19) but lost to Grand Haven.

The Buccaneers won the tiebreaker do to head-to-head results with Spring Lake.

The Trojans and Mona Shores each went 1-2 on the night with Fruitport defeating the Sailors (25-11, 25-16).

Grand Haven was led by Ashlyn Hall with 22 assists, Lauren Jonker 11 kills, and Baby Hang 26 digs. Meanwhile

Fruitport was led by Jordyn Carlyle with 14 kills and Trinity Busscher with 49 digs.

Suriya van der Oord paced the Sailors with 23 digs and 19 assists while Sasha Poland added 76 digs.

The Lakers were led by Jenna Core with 13 kills, 21 digs, and seven blocks while Madeline Zenas added 34 assists and 15 points.
