Grant volleyball team finishes second in Volleyball Coaches Association tournament

The Grant volleyball team advanced all the way to the finals of the Michigan Volleyball Officials Association tournament on Friday.

The Tigers split two sets with Thornapple-Kellogg, then beat Cedar Springs (25-11, 26-24) and Pewamo-Westphalia (25-23, 25-19), Thornapple-Kellogg in a rematch (25-21, 25-17) and Comstock Park (23-25, 25-20, 15-5).

Grant lost to Saranac 25-11, 11-25, 15-0 in the tournament championship match.

Kylie Patton led the Tigers with 68 kills and eight blocks. Jill Arends had eight service aces and nine digs.
