The Ludington football team rallied to defeat Hart 21-9 on the road in a season-opening game for both teams on Friday.

After a scoreless first quarter, Dustin Klotz found Seth Andritsis for a 17-yard touchdown completion to give Hart a 6-0 lead with 5:19 left in the second quarter.

The Pirates went up 9-0 on a Luis Perez 31-yard field goal with 1:18 left in the second quarter.

The Orioles responded with 21 unanswered points.

Ludington scored its first touchdown on the last play of the first half on a 15-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Garrett Meeker to Trevor Latimer.

Hart led 9-7 at halftime.

The Orioles took a 14-9 lead on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Meeker to Shemar Jennings.

Anthony Tenney punched in the final score for Ludington  with a run from  four yards out with 2:32 left in the game.

Meeker completed six passes for 139 yards and rushed for 57 yards on 11 carries.

Latimer paced Ludington receivers with 80 yards and a touchdown on three catches.

Hart was led by Jesse McGhan with 67 yards on 11 carries while Klotz threw for 105 yards and one touchdown on 8-of-16 passing.
