Ludington volleyball wins championship at Carson City Crystal Invitational

The Ludington volleyball team captured the championship at the Carson City Crystal Invitational on Saturday.

In pool play, the Orioles defeated Ionia in two sets, then split with Belding and Greenville.

Ludington beat Fulton 25-15, 24-26, 15-13 in the semifinals and Carson City Crystal 25-23, 25-19 in the championship match.

Erin Maltbie led the Orioles on the day with 31 kills. Courtney Gerovac contributed 69 assists and eight service aces. Caroline Cooney and Kennedy Kirby had 39 and 36 digs, respectively. Malbie and Allison Morse each had three solo and three shared blocks.

Ludington is 7-3-4 on the season.
