The Mona Shores volleyball team posted a 5-1 record on Saturday and rolled to the championship at the Reeths-Puffer Invitational.

In pool play, the Sailors rolled to straight set victories over Fremont, North Muskegon and Reeths-Puffer, and beat Whitehall in three sets. Their only came in a three-set match with Spring Lake.

In the final, the Sailors beat Whitehall in a rematch 25-21, 25-16.

Leading the Sailors in kills were Ryleigh Wehler and Grace Hellman with 29 and Anya Herrela with 21. Sasha Poland served up eight aces, Suriya van der Oord had 52 assists while Wehile had eight blocks.

Spring Lake won the silver bracket title with a 4-2 record, beating North Muskegon twice, as well as Fremont and Mona Shores. The Lakers lost to Reeths-Puffer and Whitehall.

Jenna Core paced Spring Lake with 51 kills, Laura Hellman and Jancen Sabo each served 13 aces, Madeline Zenas totaled 127 assists and Taylor Colquitt had 11 blocks.

Sabo also led her team with 46 digs.
