The Montague volleyball team opened the season by winning four of six matches on Friday.
The Wildcats defeated Sparta (25-22, 25-14), North Muskegon (21-25, 25-17, 15-7), Laingsburg (25-14, 18-25, 15-4) and Grand Rapids Union (25-4, 25-5).
They lost to Hopkins 25-20, 25-22 and tied Comstock Park 25-16, 20-25.
Alyssa Bobian had 65 kills and 49 digs on the day for Grand Haven. Morgan Roesler served up 22 aces.
