The West Michigan Whitecaps had their five game winning streak snapped Tuesday night with a 5-2 loss to Lake County.

West Michigan is now 71-32 on the year overall and 26-10 in the second half for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division second half standings.

Danny Woodrow, Isaac Paredes, Anthony Pereira and Dylan Burdeaux all led West Michigan with two hits on the night. Derek Hill and Paredes each had a RBI for West Michigan.

Starter Alfred Gutierrez pitched six innings, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out seven. Relief pitcher Brandyn Sittinger took the loss, allowing three earned runs on four hits in two innings.

West Michigan will next travel to Fort Wayne on Wednesday for a three game series beginning at 7:05 pm.
