The West Michigan Whitecaps snapped a three game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over Bowling Green on Friday night.

Danny Pinero paced the Whitecaps with two hits on the night while Anthony Pereira and Isaac Paredes each had an RBI.

Starting pitcher Alfred Gutierrez picked up his tenth win of the season, tossing six innings and allowing one unearned run on three hits while striking out five.

West Michigan is 84-43 on the season and is 39-21 in the second half, one and a half games ahead of Fort Wayne for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division second half standings.

The Whitecaps will continue their series with Bowling Green at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
