The Montague boys’ cross country team edged out Grand Rapids Covenant Christian to win the Oakridge Invitational on Saturday.

Montague finished with 38 points while Covenant Christian had 39. Western Michigan Christian was third (87), Mason County Central was fourth (99), Oakridge was fifth (132), Fruitport was seventh (188), Holton was eighth (240) and Ravenna was ninth (244).

Montague’s Cole Jensen was first overall with a time of 17:03.35.

Orchard View’s Michael Hyatt was second (17:23.39), Mason County Central’s Zech Kniecik was fourth (18:06.75), Montague’s Matt Lipka was fifth (18:07.18), Western Michigan Christian’s Eli Rotman was sixth (18:14.08), Montague’s Mike Mike McKeown was eighth (18:15.81) and Oakridge’s Kyle Messerschmidt was 10th (18:31.04).
