Jayhawks women’s soccer team earns first win of season, blanks Lake Michigan College


The Muskegon Community College women’s soccer squad posted its first win of the season on Wednesday night.

The Jayhawks blanked Lake Michigan College by a 2-0 margin.

Emily Winicki paced MCC with two goals while Vivi Mireles and Natalie Garza added an assist apiece.

MCC’s goalkeeper Jenna Jenke recorded the shutout win, stopping all five shots faced.

The score was goalless at halftime and the Jayhawks outshot Lake Michigan College by a 12-5 margin.
