The Muskegon Community College women’s soccer team had a tie and a loss in a pair of games in Illinois over the weekend.

On Saturday, the Jayhawks fell 4-2 to undefeated Moraine Valley Community College. Yojaira Campos scored in the first half for MCC to tie the score 1-1, but the Jayhawks fell behind 2-1 with a minute to go in the half.

The Jayhawks’ Emily Winicki scored in the second half to make the score 4-2, but MCC could get no closer. Her goal was assisted by Dani Goodyke.

On Sunday the Jayhawks tied Waubonsee Community College 2-2.

Winicki scored in the first half, with an assist by Goodyke, to tie the game at 1-1. Vivi Mireles scored for the Jayhawks early in the second half, but Waubonsee came back to knot up the contest.

MCC is now 4-3-1 on the season.
