The Muskegon Big Reds continued their undefeated start to the season, toppling previously undefeated Byron Center 63-14 in a non-conference game on Friday.

The Big Reds capitalized on their first two drives, jumping out to a quick 14-point lead in the first quarter. La’darius Jefferson capped a 70-yard drive with 5-yard rushing touchdown and then handed the ball off to Clinton Jefferson Jr. for a 45-yard touchdown on the next possession.

An interception by Cameron White in the second quarter allowed Jefferson to punch in a 12-yard scamper to put Muskegon up 21-0 two plays later.

The Bulldogs scored on their next possession, and then capitalized on a Muskegon fumble to find the end zone moments later, making the score 21-14 less than halfway through the second quarter.

Lonnie Clark Jr. put Muskegon up 27-14 with a 35-yard rushing touchdown. Then Jefferson found Jefferson Jr. for a 19-yard passing score to increase the lead to 35-14 at halftime.

The Bulldogs offense was stifled in the second half, allowing the Big Reds to coast to victory and improve to 4-0 on the season.

Jefferson finished with 97 passing yards, 127 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Clinton Jefferson Jr. rushed for 105 yards and found the end zone three times while Davion Mccall and Lonnie Clark Jr. also each scored a touchdown and rushed for over 100 yards.

Muskegon will head across town to challenge conference rival Reeths-Puffer next Friday.
