The Fruitport volleyball team posted a 2-2-2 record in its own invitational tournament on Saturday.

The Trojans defeated North Muskegon 25-13, 25-16, lost to Forest Hills Northern 20-25, 23-25, split with West Ottawa 23-25, 25-17, split with Whitehall 22-25, 25-19, defeated Montague 25-23, 25-8 and lost to Forest Hills Northern 27-29, 16-25.

The Trojans were led by Kylie Oberlin and Jordyn Carlyle with 37 and 35 kills, respectively. Setter Kailey Carmean posted 112 assists and 22 digs. Fruitport’s strong defense was led by Trinity Busscher with 55 digs and Chloe Kern with 31.

Whitehall defeated North Muskegon and split with Fruitport in the tournament. The Vikings lost to Forest Hills Northern and West Ottawa.

Allysin Grams and Abby Seeger led the Vikings with 21 and 20 kills, respectively. Gianna Megna served four aces and had 40 digs on defense. McKenna Hepler served two aces and Grams had eight blocks.

Montague defeated Mona Shores and Traverse City West and split with Grant. The Wildcats lost to Fruitport and Gull Lake.

Alyssa Bobian led Montague with 41 kills, Maddy Wynn served four aces, Morgan Roesler had 77 digs and Grace Meacham and Ally Hall each had four blocks.

Grant split with Montague (21-15, 25-22), lost to Gull Lake (14-25, 14-25), beat Traverse City West (25-22, 26-24), split with Mona Shores (25-23, 23-25) and lost to West Ottawa (20-25, 25-19, 13-15).

Kylie Patton and Olivia Keelean led the Tigers with 46 kills apiece. Jill Arends and Keelean each served four aces. Arends also had 44 digs and Keelean added 42. Nicole Whan recorded 119 assists and Patton had three blocks.

Forest Hills Central defeated Gull Lake in the tournament finals.
